Sacrifice and Self-Searching

God gives us material for sacrifice. Sometimes the sacrifice makes little sense to others, but when offered to God is always accepted.
~Elisabeth Elliot

Search me, O God, and know my heart;
Test me and know my anxious thoughts.
See if there is any offensive way in me,
And lead me in the way everlasting.
~Ps. 139:23-24

I really like that quote from Elisabeth Elliot! Something would be wrong if every sacrifice we make makes sense to the world!

It is difficult however, when the sacrifices we make do not make sense to our Christian brothers and sisters, and even our families: i.e. the people in rural Europe where the cost of living is cheap and the neighborhoods are safe are just as lost as the people in Caracas where there are more people killed by firearms every year than anyone else around the world.

Alright, yes. But God didn't call me to Europe. I think you know what I mean. ;) So the question becomes, do we need to explain ourselves? Is, I believe this is God's will for my life a sufficient answer? I think so. What do you think?

Obrigado por escrever tantas coisas boas que me face pensar! Voce e muito especial para mim. Estamos falando! Tchau!
