Blooms of tomorrow

Twice this week I've had occasion to quote Whitman and say "Rumors of my death are greatly exaggerated." Lord knows this is certainly true about the blog. But as spring re-awakens the earth, so it reawakens me and I am once again here to post.

This is hard for me to believe, but I've lived in the same place for 3 years. Whoa! One of the perks of being static and also of my flower obsession is that I have come to know the patterns of this place. I know more or less what is going to bloom where and on which trees, so I am anxiously anticipating the months ahead as color and blossoms erupt.

Yesterday I went out to capture pre-spring in its lovely, budded glory.

Future plum blossoms

Future Rose

Future bradford pear blossom

I don't recognize the last three so leave a comment if you know.
