The weather here has been pretty fierce yesterday and the day before. I got to spend about a half hour last night in my bathtub with my mattress pulled over my head. :) No worries-- no damage to the SojoNest. The storm started to clear around the time for sunset, and the sky looked eerily beautiful.

Good Reads
I got nothin', folks. :) Sadly, the "real world" has sucked any interesting, original thought or mundane minutia out of my little head. So instead of writing my own clever blog, I'm going to direct you to some gooduns I've read out there in the past week or so. Enjoy!
"Chasm" on Seek the Father. Whit is always funny, and when you mix in adorable pictures of a baby, it's just too much.
"The Fabulous Gordon Show" on Real Live Preacher. A stark look at how we often view ourselves and our lives, but more disturbingly the people we interact with.
"Blog World" by PreacherMike. I know I have plenty of lurkers out there. I can't quite describe the feeling I have when someone who I don't know or haven't seen in a while tells me they read my blog then brings up one of their favorite posts. It's flattering, but a little odd. Do you think you know me just because you read what I put up here?
"Blog is Dead" by Peter-san. Devastatingly clever indeed. :)
I'll even give Meriadoc an honorable mention for her post that referenced AVB. "What's your tag saaaaaaaaay? Are you ok?" hahahahaha....
Go on and eat your hearts out. And by the way, why don't you go ahead and delurk yourself. I'd like to know who's reading. :)

Wednesday Thanksgiving
I failed in my attempts to be weekly thankful on my blog, but this week I'm especially thankful. I'm thankful for spring and flowers and that particular shade of green that the trees take on, and I'm thankful for good friends. I'm thankful for new opportunities and hard decisions of the good variety, and I am thankful that there is a new baby in my life. :) My wonderfully amazing college roommate Angie and her sweet husband Brian had their first baby last week! Welcome to the world, baby Silas!

I didn't fall off the end of the world...
...but I did go to west Texas. :)
The stats on my blog have jumped the past few days, so I assume that means my readership is afraid I have died and are waiting on the blognouncement. I'm not dead yet... I'm getting better!
I went out west to visit several beloved friends I hadn't seen in a disgracefully long time. I would love to post some pictures from this wonderful trip, but sadly I didn't take a single, solitary picture while I was there! I know, shame on me! So I'll just tell you that all our mutual friends are still devastatingly handsome, incredibly witty, and as sweet, engaging, and encouraging as ever. It was a wonderful visit, full of lots of laughs, many shared memories, meeting new, cool people and plenty of deep conversations. And a few surprises.
Then today I had the honor of driving halfway across this beautiful land-o-mine to the homestead. The bluebonnets were blooming. I love spring!

Virtual Tour
Here's a virtual tour of my new apartment. Enjoy!
PS-- I would have nicely embedded it, but blogger is being very hateful.
UPS-- Please remember it's still a time of transition in my apartment. Don't judge me by my mess. :)
----------
One of my favorite hymn lyrics is "One step at a time, dear Savior, I cannot take any more..." He knows what we can handle, gives us light for each step and strength for each day. Good old omer of manna. :)

I'm spent.
Contrary to the seemingly compelling evidence, I did not die or give up blogging in honor of my birthday. Last week at work was incredibly hectic, followed by a weekend-full of moving to my new apartment. Needless to say, I'm spent. I can't even think of much to write about here. I'll post pictures and maybe a video of my new place soon. One interesting piece of trivia about my new abode-- it smells like toast. There is an industrial bread factory (factory? bakery?) about 200m away. It's quite heavenly. :)
And here's a photo from my collection, in honor of the quickly approaching springtime.
Pretty Brazilian Flower. Aeee, que saudades!

Quarterfied
24 was an amazing year. I have thought about it all day, and I could not have asked for a better year. I saw miracles worked in my own life, fulfilled some dreams, formed some amazing new relationships and further solidified many that already meant so much to me.
I don't know what 25 will hold, but it's off to a great start. Many thanks to all you who made me feel extra special today. :)

This Grand Land
Today was very nice because my parents came to town for a whirlwind visit. :) Of course we went to Ted's (a locally famous Mexican food restaurant), and it was gluttonfully wonderful. This is what I ate, and what I order every time I go (I am a hopeless creature of habit):
The enchilada platter, with one chicken and one shredded beef enchilada, both with cheese sauce and a double portion of rice.
YUM.
-----------
After lunch we went downtown and went exploring around the capitol. It is so beautiful! They finished an incredibly expensive remodel of the capitol building a few years ago which included adding a dome. Whether you feel it was worth the money or not, you've gotta admit its gorgeous. Here are some photos I took.

Greetings from Oklahoma!
My photos can't do justice to the dome
I love my mom and dad!

Future Nest of Sojochick?
Gee, my life has been very changeful in the past couple of weeks. :) This may be a new change effective next week... I'll keep you updated!
-----------------
My vocal crush Elliott Yamin is getting ready to release his debut album in a few weeks. If, like me, you just can't wait, he has 2 full songs on his myspace. Aaaaah. :) I think "Movin' On" shows off his voice more, but they're both great songs.
